STB Automation Rules

Let Billistra send STB events on its own — an expiry warning 24 hours before the subscription ends, a nudge after a trial expires, a welcome to every new user.

Automation rules fire STB events automatically whenever users match a set of conditions. The built-in Expiry Warning 24h rule, for example, messages every customer whose subscription ends within the next day.

Billistra ships several default rules and you can build your own.

Each rule card shows its template, schedule, cooldown, daily cap and how many events it has fired.

Create a rule

  1. Go to STB Events and open the Automation Rules tab.

  2. Click New Rule.

  3. Enter the rule Name and Description.

  4. Select the event Action Type and the Template it should send.

  5. Configure the Target Scope — a single portal, multiple portals, or specific users.

The template's actual content is previewed inside the rule, so you can see what will land on screen.
  6. Add the Conditions that should trigger the event. Conditions read as match users where… — for example hours until subscription expires = 24.

  7. Add more conditions if you need them, and choose whether users must match ALL of them or any.

Conditions combine with AND by default. Use *Add condition group* when you need more complex logic.
  8. Configure the Schedule — pick a preset such as Once a day (9 AM), or choose Custom CRON for exact control.

  9. Set the Cooldown in minutes, the Max per user per day cap and the Priority.

  10. Click Create Rule.

Cooldown is the minimum gap between events for the same user — the default of 1440 minutes means at most one message a day per person.

The rule now sends the selected STB event automatically whenever users meet the conditions.
